Client Overview

With a portfolio spanning multiple brands and products, the client faced challenges in maintaining consistency and efficiency across their digital experiences:

A leading enterprise operating out of the US was looking to optimise its data strategy. Faced with challenges such as siloed data practices, inconsistent analytics capabilities & tooling, and a lack of alignment between business goals and data initiatives, the organisation sought a roadmap to harness data as a strategic asset.

Objective

Jurnii’s Comprehensive Design System Development

Jurnii conducted a comprehensive Data Maturity Assessment to evaluate the current state of the organisation's data capabilities, identify gaps, and outline actionable strategies to align data practices with business objectives.

Approach

1. Data Maturity Assessment

The project commenced with a comprehensive evaluation of the client's data practices using Jurnii's proprietary Data Maturity Framework.

The assessment focused on six core areas essential for building a robust data strategy.

  1. Asset: Enhancing data collection, accuracy, accessibility, and utility to maximise the organisation's data as a valuable asset.
  2. Experimentation: Developing processes to measure the impact of business changes and foster continuous improvement.
  3. Measurement: Establishing a cohesive set of targeted, accountable, and correlated metrics.
  4. Effectiveness: Optimizing decision-making processes, operational efficiency, and ensuring a positive ROI.
  5. Intelligence: Strengthening capabilities to understand and predict both customer behaviour and business outcomes.
  6. Platform: Evolving the data infrastructure to meet current and future operational and analytical needs.

The assessment incorporated stakeholder interviews, surveys, and benchmarking to provide a detailed view of the organisation’s maturity level in these areas.

2. Strategic Recommendations

Based on the insights gained from the assessment, and through a series of stakeholder workshops, we identified a tailored set of strategic objectives within each focus area:

  • Expansion of Experimentation capabilities
  • Integration of a North Star Metric and KPI Tree
  • Development of an advanced forecasting model and budgeting process

3. Initiative Delivery Roadmap and Governance

To ensure sustainable and effective implementation, Jurnii proposed the creation of a Data Strategy Board, tasked with overseeing the roadmap delivery across functions. This roadmap was prioritised by:

  • Phase 1: Quick Wins
    • Address immediate gaps in data accuracy and accessibility.
    • Launch metrics standardisation initiatives.
  • Phase 2: Capability Building
    • Implement tools and processes for experimentation and analytics.
    • Upskill employees in data literacy and predictive analytics.
  • Phase 3: Strategic Evolution
    • Fully operationalise the evolved data platform.
    • Embed advanced intelligence capabilities into core business workflows.

The newly formed Data Strategy Board served as the central governance body, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and driving accountability. This board included representatives from key business units to ensure comprehensive oversight and the successful execution of each initiative.

4. Executive Presentation

The culmination of the project was a strategic presentation to the executive leadership team. Jurnii provided:

  • An overview of current data maturity findings.
  • A clear articulation of business benefits tied to the proposed initiatives.
  • A high-level roadmap and timeline to achieve desired outcomes.

The presentation empowered the leadership team to make informed decisions and secure buy-in from key stakeholders.
